Four vintage silver leaf dishes with ruffled edges and a distinctive naturalistic veining. Underside hallmarked Gianmaria Buccellati, Italy, 925 Sterling. A pretty floral decoration for the table, they are just big enough to hold tiny trinkets. They are hand finished in Bologna, Italy. Buccellati produces fine jewelry and silver objects ever since Contardo Buccellati founded the firm in the mid-18th century. The now world renowned company is still family owned.
Similar foliage is still available in different sizes in the actual collection of Buccellatti leaf dishes. The leaves on offer are the micro size.
Buccellatti named this leaf Geranium and if you want to find more dishes for sale, I suggest you search for Geranium leaf dishes. Confusing as it may be, Geranium is a widely used, but actually incorrect name for the leaf of a Pelargonium. Link for more information about the plant to the topic on Wikipedia and www.pelargonium.si
